I believe that we are all artists! 

In my experience, many of us learn growing up that we were doing it the wrong way. We were drawing outside of the lines - and that was bad. The piece of art that we just created didn't conform to what we were "supposed to make" in that particular class. We start to doubt our creativity. 

We forget that we are actually artists! We are also scientists! 

We are curious. We want to test things out and see how they work. 

Making mosaics is both an art and a science. 

In this workshop you will learn the techniques to create a piece of art in your own unique way AND learn the science of mudding and grouting the work you create. 

Experience all of this in a supportive and fun environment.

This workshop includes:

• All materials and tools, specifically:

  • 8x12 wooden rectangle to create your mosaic on

  • Mud and grout (including color for mixing grout)

  • A wide selection of tile (including ceramic, glass, stone, etc...)

  • Bucket, spatula, and sponge 

  • Use of our wet tile cutters, nippers, hammers, and any other tools necessary to create your work of art

• Lunch on Saturday. Vegetarian option available. If you have additional dietary restrictions, please let us know when you register.

You will go home with:

• A second 8x12 wooden substrate

• Mud and grout 

• Bucket, spatula, and sponge 

• A list of resources about where you can find tile for your next project and tools you may want to consider purchasing for your future mosaic fun!

Day 1

• 10-10:30am - Overview of the workspace, materials, and tools available

• 10:30am-12pm - Design and lay out your piece 

• 12-1pm - Lunch

• 1-4pm - Mudding and completing your piece

Day 2

• 10-10:30am - Overview of the types of grout and technique

• 10:30am-12pm - Grout your piece

• 12-1pm - Closing
