An Opulent Table

I found these cross-shaped tiles at a SCRAP PDX (a Portland-based creative reuse center). There were a lot of similar tiles there in blue, but there was just this one tile that was tan. We also had this big end-table in our workspace that we weren’t sure what to do with. It looked to me like it should be in a castle and that specific cross-shaped tile spoke to me. I started with that tile in the middle and the piece grew from there. All of the tiles I used for this table have come from either SCRAP or friends donating tiles they no longer need. I love that it looks so regal and it comes from such meager means!
